Suffering in Silence

I absolutely refuse to buy a new MP3 player until SOMEONE makes one that adheres to the following two requirements:

1. No dependence on your stupid, crappy, software. If I want to use Windows Media Player to transfer the files, I should be able to. If I want to use Windows Explorer to transfer the files, likewise.
2. Gapless playback. Pink Floyd's Pulse. Any DJ Mix CD ever made. These will sound like ass when you interrupt the track playback - for what? Silence? GODDAMIT! STOP INSERTING GAPS BETWEEN TRACKS!

I hate to say it, but Apple addressed the second issue with their latest MP3 players. But I refuse to install Apple sofware on my PC, so they can forget having me as a customer. I'll suffer in silence until someone figures it out.
